Moms: Who Am I Now?

I haven't been updating my blog for awhile now, because I'm still adjusting to this whole being-a-new-single-mom-deal. I've been spending enourmous amounts of time with my little boy, doing the grocery shopping for my household and cleaning around the house. I haven't had much time for my blog, but once my son can be on his own without my constant attention (he's also sick right now. poor thing. needs me even more. haha) I'll be able to update this regularly. I have so many posts lined up, I just have to get them finished.

I have a few minutes right now, while my son is sleeping and I just got my Publix Baby Club newsletter in the mail! They have a really cool article in here titled, What Every Mom Needs, Moms ask: Who am i, now? They have a jump-start thinking list and I figured I could fill it out on here. If you'd like to fill this out yourself, go ahead! We do enjoy being mothers, but we need to find an identity that goes past our part of "mother" and reminds us of who we used to be and who we still are, in addition to "mother." (paraphrase from the article)

1. Three adjectives that describe me are....
Charismatic, Clumsy, Caring.

2. My greatest strengths are....
I will do anything for my family/friends. I am very devoted.

3. My most obvious weaknesses are....
Sometimes I care too much, and it gets me hurt or in trouble in the long run.

4. What I want most in the world is....
For my son to have the best possible life that I can over, if not more.

5. If given the gift of a day with no responsibilities, I would....
sleep. in a really nice feathery amazingly comfortable bed.

6. If I received an "outstanding award" in 10 years, it would be for....
Couponing. :P I wanna get better at it! Either couponing or being Bray-Bray's mom. Haha. Can you get an award for that?

7. The one thing I can do this week that will help me to get that award is....
Practice my couponing skills! Looking at the all the ads, finding the best places to buy things for the lowest amount of money. That's what I wanna do!

Well, I hope you guys like this and you fill it out for yourself!

My weakness is caring too much, too, and I, too, would love a day of sleeping in a nice, comfy bed, without any interruptions!

As for an award for being a mom, well, they might not have actual awards for it, but having a healthy, happy child is the best trophy, isn't it?

I don't know how old your son is but I'm guessing quite young from your profile. Anyway, my daughter, 8, got me my first #1 Mom coffee mug for Christmas this past year. She picked it out on her own and paid for it with her own money. That gift has a pretty special place in my heart, let me tell you, and is really an award in its own right. :o) The first time your kid does something sincere and from the heart, because he/she knows it'll make your day, is such a gift.

Anyway, sorry to derail your (lovely!) post...

Yes, I LIKE your post and your honesty. You are a very good mom and doing your best to help Brayden get well fast!

You are doing a great job finding the food deals and getting the most for our money! You are greatly appreciated!

It's a blessings to see you love your son and make him laugh and help him start to stand up and walk. It's a special time you'll never have again. I love how you are cherishing him and this time.

You will get the GREATEST award from the Lord in heaven for being the BEST Faithful Mom to Brayden as you share with a person that will never let him down and will bring him eternal life!

Love you deeply and thanks for sharing and doing all you do!
